Introducing that Urbane Ursine - Barney!

Convention-bound

Successfully overcoming the cub-hood trauma of sharing a name with a Dinosaur that makes you long for the denizens of Jurassic Park, Barney has risen to become Ubear-Ursine of the Hug.

Always happy to undertake the more arduous tasks of Bear-dom such as honey-sampling, acting as Web site Cover-bear for October and frequent waddles to conventions, Barney has become increasingly aware of the challenge presented by Little Marcus for the role of Alpha male in the Hug. However, being at heart a benevolent dictator he simply reinforces his position with careful emphasis of the fact that he is the only Bear with a fan-club (seen below; Barney is in the middle wearing the mask)

In an attempt to move with the times Barney recently acquired the ultimate chic celebrity accessory - a stalker. Actually he rang "Stalkers R Us" and was subsequently introduced to Madame C (seen in the photo on the right) who stalks him on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Madame M (who does Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Sysop L (weekends only, ring for appointments)

Surprisingly, Barney has not let his celebrity status go to his head. At present he tries to lead a life of quiet anonymity. This is largely in response to the attempts by some of the younger hug members to interpret his title of "pin-up" literally which has resulted in a few awkward moments. Let's just say they cured his vertigo...(he also sees the hand of little Marcus in a lot of this)
