Regular visitors to Da Bearz Lair will have notice the growing presence of a new Hug member - Lucas, a charismatic young ursine who is rapidly taking the Da World of Da Bearz by storm.
However, in March 2000, a new bear appeared in town, one who did his
own thing, lived by his own rules and didn't give a rodent's rectum
about the established order - in short, a REBEL And his name was Lucas. Don't let those winsome good looks fool you. In the short time he has been "associated" with the hug, Lucas and his 'alluring tufts' (as they were dubbed by adoring fans) has rubbed shoulders with the stars, stood for election as ruler of the universe and been featured as 'Mr December' in a calendar. He has spawned imitators, his own e-mail account, an Xmas special and a whole litter of young acolytes (although he's a bit embarrassed about that last bit). He is also an Arsenal fan. Yet another recruit from the FAO Schwarz stable (San Francisco branch) Lucas is one of the more 'animated' hugsters - if you've ever met him you'll know what this means. If you haven't yet met him....well you're one of the lucky ones.
At present this little borderline sociopath is contentedly frolicing back in Da Bearz' original stamping ground (the Science Fiction Media forum on Compuserve) where he has made lots of new friends who appreciate his unique gifts for panic and mayhem (or are maybe just scared witless by his penchant for gratuitous snogging). However, in his eternal quest for dignity and a little respect it's a safe bet that his horizons (and waistline) will soon expand....
