Please be upstanding for Marcus - Ursus PopulousKnown as the Young Turk of the Hug, Marcus is widely regarded as Hug-Leader-in-Waiting to Barney (the present incumbent) and is cautiously supported by a cadre of younger Bearz (including Franklin, Big 'Arry and Ivano-bear - seen below), eager for advancement should he ever manage to topple the older Bear.
Ever-conscious of being in the public eye, Marcus, carefully cultivates his image as "The People's Bear" and claims as his role models Tony Blair, Al Capone and Machiavelli. In contrast to Barney's more personal approach (motto - "Press Da Flesh") Marcus prefers to cater for a wider audience (motto - "Press Da Shutter") and enjoys the distinction of having had his photo taken with more B5 cast members than any other Bear on the planet. However Marcus is not solely focused on the cut 'n barf
of Hug politics. He fancies himself as a bit of a lady's bear and is
currently pursuing an on/off romance (mostly off) with Ivano-Bear in
the hopes of getting 'boffed' . Ivano-Bear's seeming indifference has
not cooled his ardour nor has getting caught with her in an apparently
compromising situation by an ISBN
news crew (however her repeated hints about making the 'ultimate
sacrifice' are beginning to ruffle his fur a tad).
PS. At this time Marcus isn't planning any direct challenges to Barney's position as Alpha Bear, but he would like it known that he is in the market for a freshly severed horse's head....
